We are interviewing Andrea Mandic today, our Workflow Manager for the Gippsland and Metro region, the person that plans and coordinates tasks across various departments bringing the home from sales stage until it is a finished home.
How long have you worked at JG King Homes for:
I have just ticked over one year and a month. It feels like it has been a short 13 months, getting to know the various teams and working together with amazing people every day.
What does a typical day at work look like:
A workflow manager day can vary day to day, however it mostly encompasses, with checking in with the team, then leading into project co-ordination and planning (based on workflow forecast and alignment with other departmental schedules).
What led you to working in the home building industry:
My first full time job was in the home building industry 30 years ago and I didn't know much about the home building industry at that time. Now, I am still working in the building industry with plenty of experiences and I have loved my 30 years of working in this industry.
What's your favourite part of seeing a home come together:
My favourite part of seeing a home come together is when they first start to go on site to build the home that has been in planning and design with the team for a long time.
Greatest achievement in your career:
Elevating and supporting colleagues (especially women in building industry) in their career path.
If you could trade jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be:
I enjoy sharing knowledge and experiences. So, perhaps a teacher or a coach.
What does home mean to you:
To me, a home is not a physical place. It's anywhere my Family is!
Describe your dream forever home:
My dream home is a cute cottage built on an acreage (3-5 acres ideally) with spectacular views!
