In August 2022, the Victorian Government announced an increase in minimum energy efficiency standards for new homes from 6 to 7 stars under changes to National Construction Code (NCC) 2022. With millions of homes planned for the next 30 years, the NCC requirements will help future-proof our nation and keep pace with environmental leaders in Europe.

The minimum standards for thermal comfort in new homes will increase from 6 to 7 stars for energy efficiency (NatHERS ratings) under changes to the NCC, effective from May 1, 2024.

• If they can deliver any home and land combination to achieve 7-Star energy-efficient rating, considering different block orientations.
• Whether windows sizes and locations have been compromised adjusted for energy compliance.
