Behind the Master Plan with Paddy Cunningham

We are interviewing Paddy Cunningham today, the Chief Financial Officer for the JG King Building Group (JG King Homes, Steel Frame Solutions, Project Windows & Doors). 
 

How long have you worked at JG King Building Group for:

I started in February 2021 as the General Manager of Finance. In August 2022, I transitioned into the role of Chief Financial Officer for the JG King Building Group. To this day, it remains as the greatest and proudest achievement of my career. So in total, I have worked at JG King Building Group for 3 years and 10 months, and I am looking forward to many more years to come!

What does a typical day at work look like:

There is really no typical day, but as the Chief Financial Officer, my role encompasses being a:

1. Steward - Protect the vital assets of the Group
2. Operator - Operate an efficient and effective finance team
3. Strategist - Help influence the future direction of the Group
4. Catalyst - Stimulate and drive business improvement initiatives

What led you to working in the home building industry:

My dad is a carpenter by trade. I have always been interested in construction, working in the home building industry has allowed me to combine my interest in construction with my professional qualification of an accountant.

What does home mean to you:

Home is a place filled with love, laughter and happy memories. It's where you create memories, lasting moments with your the people you care about.

Describe your dream forever home:

My dream home is the one I live in now! It's a fully renovated and extended 1920's California Bungalow, a perfect blend of vintage charm and modern comfort.
