In August 2022, the Victorian Government announced an increase in minimum energy efficiency standards for new homes from 6 to 7 stars under changes to National Construction Code (NCC) 2022. With millions of homes planned for the next 30 years, the NCC requirements will help future-proof our nation and keep pace with environmental leaders in Europe.
The minimum standards for thermal comfort in new homes will increase from 6 to 7 stars for energy efficiency (NatHERS ratings) under changes to the NCC, effective from May 1, 2024.

What to Ask A Home Builder When Considering a 7-Star Compliant Home?
When considering a 7-Star energy-efficient home, ask your home builder:
- If they provide you the option to buy a preferred home design as a 7-Star compliant home before May 1st 2024.
- If they can deliver any home and land combination to achieve 7-Star energy-efficient rating, considering different block orientations.
- Whether windows sizes and locations have been compromised adjusted for energy compliance.

2. 7 Star Homes
JG King Homes can deliver all STANDARD house designs to achieve 7 Star Energy Efficiency on any orientation.
If changes are made from STANDARD house designs JG King Homes cannot guarantee achievement of 7 Star compliance.
JG King Homes will deliver windows that are the same size and same location in all their home designs. To achieve 7 Star compliance all windows will be made from European Styled (uPVC) Double Glazing. The glazing will come with a Low E Coating.
JG King Homes can deliver homes throughout Victoria as depicted in JG King Homes build zone regions map.
As standard all JG King Homes will deliver European Styled (uPVC) Double Glazed windows as standard. The glazing will come with a Low E Coating. JG King Homes do not supply uPVC windows to homes build in the Mildura region.
When JG King Homes refers to windows and doors it includes all windows, rear sliding doors, and sliding laundry doors. External swing doors and side lights will remain Timber with Timber frames.
All STANDARD JG King Homes House Designs will achieve 7 Star Energy Efficiency in any orientation. For this purpose STANDARD designs means one of the standard designs on this website, not incorporating any of the available floorplan choices or owner requested modifications.
To achieve 7 Star compliance all windows will be made from European Styled (uPVC) with double glazing. The glazing will come with a Low E Coating.
3. Amendments
3.1 At any time, JG King may change, add or remove any part of these terms and conditions of use or any features of the Website.
3.2 Your continued use of the Website after such change, addition or removal constitutes an agreement by you to abide by, and be bound by, these terms and conditions of use, including as regards any changes JG King may have made.
4. Intellectual property
4.1 JG King owns, or is otherwise licensed to use, all intellectual property in the Website. 12.2 You submit irrevocably and unconditionally to the jurisdiction of the courts of the state of Victoria, Australia in all disputes related or connected to these terms and conditions of use.

The 50-year structural warranty is provided by BlueScope Steel Limited and is subject to application and eligibility criteria.
